KSJO(FM) in San Francisco/San Jose is airing a regional Mexican hits format, La Preciosa. It had been rock.
This is the second Clear Channel station to go Spanish-language under a company format initiative run by Alfredo Alonso that aims to add Spanish programming in 20 to 25 markets. The first was WWVA(FM) Viva in Atlanta.
According to the announcement, “KSJO(FM) La Preciosa will bring to the Bay Area the greatest Spanish hits, giving listeners memories of native Mexico that is sure to make an emotional connection with its audience.”
Market Manager Kim Bryant said the Bay Area is one of the country’s fastest growing Hispanic markets.
