Ferncast will show a new audio tool for professional reporting at the IBC Show.
It describes fernReport as a platform for audio reporting, live sports commentary and other situations that call for a portable audio codec. It is software-based device that combines aixtream software and the new RasPad 3 portable Raspberry Pi Tablet with large touchscreen.
Connectivity includes WiFi, LTE/4G/5G and Ethernet. It is powered by a five-hour rechargeable battery and includes up to 128 GB storage.
“By default, three professional headsets (USB) are supported out of the box. Splitters, adapters and external interfaces enable even more microphones and many different connector types.”
The user interface is customizable and can mimic knob and fader control panels if users prefer a traditional experience. The UI controls also can emulate specific existing hardware on request.
CEO Detlef Wiese called fernReport “a freely configurable UI controlled with touch screen — no knobs, no potentiometers, no faders, everything in the software.” It is available with carrying case and audio hardware.
IBC Stand: 8.F83.
