Exhibitor Viewpoint: Radio.Cloud at the NAB Show

The company looks to streamline an end-to-end solution even further

Planning for the 2025 NAB Show is ramping up, and Radio World is asking exhibitors about their plans and expectations.

Andrew Scaglione is an account director at Radio.Cloud.

Andrew Scaglione

Radio World: What do you anticipate will be the most significant technology trend(s) that radio professionals should be watching for at the 2025 NAB Show?

Andrew Scaglione: Artificial intelligence is still the main answer to this question. The difference in 2025 versus the last two years is that many companies now have practical applications and solutions, versus theoretical projects and products. Another topic is the continuing shift from hardware to software across many aspects of the industry, something we’re keeping our eye on closely as a longtime software-as-a-service provider.

RW: Your company is active in the AI sector. Briefly, what’s happening within this sector that readers should know about?

Scaglione: In 2025, AI is being widely adopted across the industry as a time-saver. While past concerns focused on the risks and fears of generative AI, the narrative has shifted as understanding deepens. Companies and radio stations now use AI to enhance efficiency by automating manual tasks. Though generative AI is still relevant — such as with our feature Voicetrack.ai — radio has recognized that AI’s capabilities extend far beyond voice generation.

RW: Since last NAB, you launched a feature called Assistant AI, what has the response been like?

Scaglione: Our new product Assistant AI has received a very positive response. It’s hard to beat the concept as a time-saving tool. Imagine having a playlist-specific research assistant that provides you with artist/song/news/weather information with just a few clicks. The resulting content can then be used and re-used as a host sees fit: on air, digitally or across social media.

Radio.Cloud’s Assistant AI, a playlist-specific research tool that removes the manual work from show prep and provides multi-platform content to engage listeners.

RW: What will be your own most important product news or exhibit topic?

Scaglione: While we’ll have lots of new features and enhancements to the Radio.Cloud platform on display, the most noteworthy news involves a project we’re working on with a few other companies. With so much of the industry starting to move towards a cloud-based and software-driven airchain, we think there’s ample opportunity to streamline an end-to-end solution even further. That’s all I’ll say for now, but more details will be revealed at NAB.

RW: If you are introducing a new product or feature, how is it different from what’s available on the market?

Scaglione: 2025 is the first time we’re displaying our product Content Transporter in conjunction with our tool Content Controller. Together, they create the first hyper-localization and distribution tool for radio syndication. Content creators benefit by gaining the ability to offer localized content at scale without additional work. Affiliate stations benefit from great national content which sounds hyper-local for the first time.

RW: Anything else we should know?

Scaglione: Radio.Cloud continues to evolve and grow as a suite of tools meant to support an industry that needs to move into the future. We see the benefit for programmers and hosts who want to increase efficiency, managers looking to save money on large capital investments and engineers looking to decrease hardware and studio footprint. All this will be on display at our booth in the West Hall.
