Sirius now has a former investment banker managing its relationships with stockholders and analysts. The satcaster has named Michelle McKinnon senior director, Investor Relations.
The position is new.
McKinnon will be responsible for the communication of all investor-related matters, including managing relationships with buy- and sell-side analysts. Fourteen sell-side analysts cover Sirius and the company has approximately 500,000 stockholders.
Sirius said it was the fourth most-active stock traded on NASDAQ during the quarter ending June 30.
“As institutional and individual investors show greater interest in our company, it is important to have someone with Michelle’s capital markets’ experience to communicate our objectives to both of these important constituencies,” said Sirius CFO David Frear.
McKinnon comes to Sirius with more than eleven years of investment banking and sell-side research experience with firms including Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan Chase and Merrill Lynch.
