Digital music service Slacker has named John Hayase as chief product officer.
With nearly two decades of experience building interactive media and ecommerce platforms, Hayase will oversee the development of Slacker’s digital music service across the Web, smartphones, tablets, cars and consumer electronics devices.
“Slacker is growing fast with millions of people listening every month — John is here to guarantee these listeners have an amazing experience across every platform, whether they’re listening for free or are paying subscribers,” said Jim Cady, CEO of Slacker.
Hayase most recently worked as vice president of client solutions for ElasticPath, where he led the implementation of its ecommerce platform. Previously, he served in executive roles at Electronic Arts, including heading platform development for the company’s Origin digital download service, and as the general manager of EA China. Hayase also designed life support systems for the International Space Station as a senior engineer at Boeing.
