Spanish company Spoti SL has created a free Android app to enable live listening to broadcast radio stations and simultaneously tweet about the programming.
The app, dubbed SocialRadios, features simple navigation to help users listen to specific programs and configure and use their Twitter account.
The company says its goal is to create a “globalized social radio for Android” and to monetize the social audiences of listeners.
A spokesman from SocialRadios explained that the company aims to “provide social audience with sponsored tweets in the medium term.”
Currently, the app is being adopted at a rate of about 100 users a day, and the company intends to launch the iOs version in the fall.
