Sonifex will release new transformer-based passive splitter products this November.
The CM-AESB3 is a passive “one-to-three” splitter designed to split a single AES3ID digital audio source to up to three destinations using female BNC connectors. The CM-AESB3 splits the input signal through transformers, and 75Ω termination can be applied to unconnected outputs.
The CM-AESX3 is also a passive “one-to-three” splitter to create AES3 digital audio signals using Neutrik XLR connectors.
The CM-MS3 can split a single microphone or line source to up to three destinations, using Neutrik XLR connectors. It uses audio transformers capable of accepting input levels up to +18dBu. It offers three power methods: from the external +48VDC power connector; from a microphone amplifier connected to output one; from an amplifier connected to output two.
Controlling which method is used to provide phantom power is achieved with push switches; also, users can concurrently power a microphone using two methods without degrading audio performance. Using the push switches to lift pin one of the output connectors can eliminate ground loop hum problems, the company says.
