Mega Media has outlined more of its plans for the radio format it will launch using the Channel 6 audio space at 87.7 MHz in New York.

“Pulse 87.7 FM” will be a rhythmic top 40 station starting on Feb. 11; a week later the “Star & Buc Wild Morning Show” returns to the city with its debut. The show was once syndicated by Clear Channel but was pulled over controversial on-air remarks.

Joel Salkowitz will be the station’s PD; he was VP of music programming and content at Sirius and is a former format director for Clear Channel in the market. He helped develop the rhythm top 40 format of Emmis station WQHT in New York years ago.

Mega has aired Russian language programming on that frequency in the past.
