Radio Star has upgraded its WinMedia Radio solution with the WinPublish module for RDS distribution.
The station, which broadcasts to the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Area (PACA), including major cities such as Marseille, Toulon, Nice, Monaco and Menton, has been on air since 1982.
According to WinMedia, Radio Star integrated the WinPublish module into the WinMedia Radio software the station uses to manage its operations such as music scheduling, traffic & billing, voice tracking, broadcasting and streaming over the Internet. Structured around a centralized database, the installation features five production workstations and three playout studios.
“Finding the production and broadcasting platform able to offer to our listeners the highest possible quality was crucial,” said Thierry Garnier, Radio Star program director. “We were also looking for a solution able to cover our entire workflow, including precise music and ad scheduling.”
WinPublish streamlines RDS distribution using the UECP protocol. The system offers a wide array of setup options, including live text display, while the integrated workflow engine automates processes in the background to facilitate distribution, says the firm.
Furthermore, for the management of social networking, WinPublish integrates user-generated content into the production workflow by allowing selected posts to be used on the radio website, says WinMedia.
