Thousands of Webcasters silenced their streams Tuesday, June 26, to protest expected increases in Internet music royalty fees.

Organized by the SaveNetRadio Coalition, a coalition of Webcasters, listeners and artists lobbying for Congress to reject the royalty increase, due to go into effect July 16. The RIAA and music publishers say the increase is overdue and some streamers pay no royalties.
