Telos Z/IPs to College

Users include several academic institutions

College stations seem attracted to the new Z/IP One Zephyr IP codec, according to Telos Systems.

The manufacturer said it has shipped some 50 units in the past month.

Among those users are educational broadcasters California State University, Chico’s KCSC(FM); Iowa State University, Ames’ KURE(FM); and Columbia Union College’s WGTS(FM) in Takoma Park, Md.

The codec retails for $1,995 and occupies one rack space. Its Agile Connection Technology is intended to provide the lowest possible delay and the highest possible fidelity, adjusting automatically to adapt to network bandwidth and latency conditions.
