TFT, Inc. received a grant of Equipment Authorization Certification for what it says is the first decoder only for the Emergency Alert System. The EAS911D can be used for low power FM, low power TV, and cable operators who can comply with decoder only requirements of the FCC’s Part 11 EAS rules. The EAS 911D Decoder Only is based on the design of TFT’s EAS 911. The decoder only will operate either automatically or manually. The list price of the EAS 911D, complete with two receivers and character generator interface is $1,995. The FCC Identifier assigned to the EAS 911D is “BIOEAS911D”.
