Magic 89.9 FM in Manila is using Tieline Commander G3 studio and field codecs to broadcast one of their radio shows between New York City and Manila.

According to Armand Ursal of Quest Broadcasting, owner of Magic 89.9 FM, the station has been using the Commander IP codec daily for its morning show, “Good Times with Mo” since January 2012.

“Last year our announcer, DJ Mo Twister, decided to move to New York and he wanted to continue his show, so we set-up the Tieline field codec at his residence so he could continue to broadcast in Manila,” he said. “Every day our broadcast from New York is perfect and our listeners cannot believe that we are broadcasting live from the U.S. because the quality of the audio signal is so clear.”

The very low delay encourages very smooth bidirectional interaction between the two announcers in both the remote studio in New York and the Manila studio, explains Ursal.

“In fact, the morning show that uses the Commander codec is one of the top ranking shows in Manila radio,” he said “It allows us to lead the pack with this sort of entertainment and we also use the codecs for remote broadcasts in malls and schools around Manila.”

The installation was carried out with the help of Loreto C. Dela Cruz Jr. of Broadcast & Telecom Supply Inc.
