The New York Times Company named Marc Frons as chief technology officer for its digital operations. He will report to Martin Nisenholtz, senior vice president, digital operations.
The company reported revenues of $3.4 billion in 2005. Its holdings include two New York radio stations and nine network-affiliated TV stations in addition to print and Web properties.
Frons previously worked at Dow Jones & Company, where he was VP and CTO for its Consumer Media Group, responsible for online product development and applications. Frons began his career at Newsweek in 1979.
