UK Government Encourages Drivers to Go Digital

More digital stations will launch shortly

The government in the United Kingdom has published an announcement encouraging drivers to switch to DAB radio.

Specifically, DVLA and the Driver, Vehicle Standards Agency, Department for Transport and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, have joined together to promote digital radio. Over 45 percent of all new cars in the U.K. have already been fitted with a digital radio as standard.

The government also recently said that new national stations would launch soon, supplementing the currently available national, local station and FM stations.

Additionally, nearly 400 new DAB transmitters will be built over the next two years. This will bring DAB digital radio to around 7,000 kilometers of roads throughout the country.
