Univision Gains New Leader

Names EVP/COO Randy Falco President/CEO

Univision Communications announced that it has promoted from within in naming its new president and chief executive officer. Randy Falco gets the job. He had been executive vice president and chief operating officer. He replaces Joe Uva who left earlier this year.

Falco will join the Univision board and remain in New York. Univision Board Executive Chairman Haim Saban stated, “The board unanimously agreed that Randy’s track record and expertise make him the ideal executive to lead Univision’s future growth.”

The long-time broadcasting executive came to Univision in early 2011, overseeing all revenue functions, including advertising sales, distribution sales and affiliate relations, as well as the operations of Univision television and radio station groups, corporate marketing, research and corporate business development. Previously, Falco was chairman and chief executive officer of AOL. Prior to AOL, Falco spent more than 30 years in varying roles at NBC Universal, Inc., culminating as president and chief operating officer of NBC Universal Television Group.
