VOA said it has added 30 minutes to its daily Somali radio broadcast.
It now provides an hour of live news and information. VOA Somali airs 1600 to 1700 UTC (7 to 8 p.m. in Somalia), followed by a repeat broadcast.
The service was launched in February and is carried on AM, FM and shortwave radio frequencies. The VOA Somali Service chief is Fred Cooper.
