WAWZ(FM) takes home the top prize as NRB’s music-formatted Radio Station of the Year.
Star 99.1, licensed to Pillar of Fire, calls itself the only Christian music station in the New York metropolitan area. It is based in Zarephath, N.J.
The association also named Salem’s WAVA(AM/FM) in the Washington market as its talk format Station of the Year. Those stations are located in Arlington, Va.
