Westwood One is dropping production and syndication of NBC News Radio.
The news follows Westwood’s decision announced in August to drop ABC Radio News.
In a letter sent to Westwood One affiliates, company SVP Affiliate Sales Dennis Green says as of midnight on Dec. 14, WWO will no longer be producing and distributing NBC News Radio. To ease the transition “satellite channels will not change for stations switching to Westwood One News. Your announcements, news reports, and actualities will be available at news.westwoodone.com.”
The company hopes to soon roll out a white-label news service being produced by CNN that stations can self-brand.
