Not many college radio stations pack this kind of power.
Fordham’s WFUV(FM) will honor TV’s Charlie Rose and sports broadcaster Mike “Doc” Emrick at On the Record: A Celebration of Achievement in News and Sports Broadcasting, Nov. 2.
Rose will be the recipient of the Charles Osgood Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism. Osgood is an alum of WFUV. Emrick, long-time hockey broadcaster, notably for the New Jersey Devils, will receive the Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award in Sports Broadcasting. Scully is also a WFUV alum.
The event will also feature acknowledgment of two student broadcasters. Proceeds from the event will benefit WFUV and Fordham’s broadcast education students.
