The broadcast debut of CBS Radio’s all-news station on 99.1 MHz in the nation’s capital has been moved back four days, to Monday, Jan. 23.
No reason for the change was given on the station’s website.
CBS Radio is running promos for the new station on 99.1 and on its other stations in the market, including WJFK(FM), WPGC(FM), WIAD(FM) and WHFS(AM).
“WNEW will become the place for live, local news programming from a trusted on-air staff delivering ‘All News, All the Time,’” according to a statement on the station’s website. Streaming online, however, will still begin tomorrow at www.wnew.com and through the Radio.com app on mobile devices, according to the station, with anchors both familiar and new to the Washington area.
