The FCC affirmed a $9,000 fine against Monroe Area Broadcasters Inc., licensee of WRKQ(AM), Madisonville, Tenn., for failing to adequately attenuate its transmission system emissions, failing to identify call sign and operating at night with daytime power.
The station said financial problems has kept it from performing some preventive maintenance but that the violations have been corrected.
