At a House Commerce Committee hearing on broadcast indecency recently, FCC Chairman Michael Powell told lawmakers the agency had several such cases pending, and to expect decisions on those soon.
Now the commission has told The Wall Street Journal that about a dozen cases are close to completion. The commission is considering fines against Viacom/Infinity, Clear Channel and Emmis, according to the Journal.
