XM Introduces CommanderMT Universal Satellite Radio Receiver

XM introduced the XM CommanderMT from Audiovox, which is said to work with any AM/FM car stereo regardless of the vehicle's make, brand or year.

XM introduced the XM CommanderMT from Audiovox, which is said to work with any AM/FM car stereo regardless of the vehicle’s make, brand or year.

This is notable because the unit will alert the user when a favorite song, artist or sports team is being played on another channel. The company says quick channel navigation allows you to program 30 favorite channels or press number buttons to enter and move directly to the channel you want, then “jump” to the previous station you were listening to.

The CommanderMT works with the portable XM Mini-Tuner, a removable cartridge containing the XM subscription that can be used to access XM Radio programming through other compatible car and home products.

The unit ships to stores this month and will list for $179.99.
