XM Passes 4 Million Benchmark

XM Satellite Radio says it has surpassed the 4 million subscriber mark and that it has garnered 70% of the satellite radio market. The company says it added 1 million subscribers in less than five months and will reach 5.5 million by the end of the year.
XM President/CEO Hugh Panero said since it launched, it took the company 23 months to get the first million subscribers, eight more months to reach the 2 million mark, 6 months to hit 3 million and less than 5 months to exceed 4 million subscribers.
