XM Satellite Radio confirms that the RoadyXT model has been given the go-ahead for shipping to retailers. The unit is one of several being reviewed by the FCC for exceeding allowable RF emissions and, in some cases, interfering with the analog signals of some terrestrial stations.
Spokesman Chance Patterson said a ferrite bead has been attached to the antenna wire to reduce emissions. Look for this unit and possibly other detained models to start coming back on store shelves in July, he said.
