Active monitoring technology manufacturer Genelec will provide all the speaker systems for the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest.
Finnish public service broadcaster Yleisradio (YLE) will transmit the event on 12 May live from the Hartwall Areena in Helsinki. YLE has used Genelec systems in its studios for more than 25 years.
For the 51st Eurovision Song Contest, Genelec will provide YLE with more than 30 units, installed in various technical areas, including the music mixing room, master control room, media center and VIP area.
The Genelec products installed will include 8200 and 7200 DSP Series monitors with Genelec Loudspeaker Management (GLM) and AutoCal.
“The first time I heard Genelec 8000 series speakers, I instantly knew that these were a hit product,” said Pasi Vatunen, Eurovision Song Contest 2007 audio designer. “The improvement they offered, especially in hi-mid and high frequencies was remarkable.”
