AKG Debuts New Broadcast Mic

Harman’s mic maker looks back for inspiration

AKG is bringing back some familiar faces from the 1990s, the Project Studio Line (a.k.a. AKG’s ‘C’ mics). This “new” line of affordable mics include C2000, C3000, C4000 and C4500 BC and all feature updated electronics.

Of particular interest is the C 4500 BC, a mic aimed at broadcasters. It has a large diaphragm condenser design with a cardioid pattern, integrated multilayer pop-filter and 20 dB pad.

The remaining members of the Project Studio Line offer a small diaphragm condenser (C2000), a drum/vocal condenser (C3000) and a traditional studio-style large diaphragm multipattern microphone.
