Consumer electronics maker Alpine Electronics is now shipping the ICS-X7HD in-dash receiver.
The unit includes built-in HD Radio and features wireless technology with advanced audio streaming.
The ICS-X7HD can access cloud–based content and services such as Siri Eyes Free mode. Customers with a compatible iPhone can direct Siri to perform tasks while they drive. Aha by Harman can be launched through the iPhone. And MirrorLink takes content from compatible Android smartphones and “mirrors” the information onto the ICS-X7HD’s 7-inch screen.
“As consumers increasingly look to the cloud to consume their entertainment and information, the natural progression of this use has moved to the in-vehicle space,” said Alpine Electronics of America VP/GM Aftermarket Business Unit Steve Crawford. “The ICS-X7HD gathers this content and applies Alpine’s proprietary user interface, so people can access their information in a manner that is relevant and simple for in-car use.”
Ibiquity says the unit is equipped with Alpine’s Smart Reception Management which keeps listeners tuned into their favorite HD Radio main stations as well as HD2/HD3 stations, even when listeners are in areas with limited digital reception.
The ICS-X7HD is SiriusXM compatible with a separate tuner.
The list price is $800 and the radio is available at Alpine dealers.
