The BBC has announced that a new app is available for Russian-speaking iPhone and iPod Touch users worldwide.
Appropriately called BBC Russian App, the new Russian-language service allows users instant access to the latest news from the broadcaster.
Customers can download the free BBC Russian App at the iTunes App Store (Russian version) and then personalize it to fit individual news requirements. They can select categories of interest to them — World, Russian News, U.K. News, Business, Sports, Society, Science & Technology and Multimedia — adding, reordering or removing them from the home screen.
In addition, the BBC Russian App offers users offline access to the top three stories from each category. For Wi-Fi and 3G connections video is also accessible. BBC Russian is part of the BBC World Service.
