Clear-Com Concert Suitable for Time-Sensitive Apps

Delivers sound over a LAN or Internet between local and remote users in lieu of picking up the telephone or connecting to a conference bridge.

Clear-Com Communications Systems aims to bring intercom solutions to the desktop PC with the debut of its software-based intercom system, Clear-Com Concert.

Based on VoIP technology, Clear-Com Concert delivers sound over a LAN or Internet between local and remote users in lieu of picking up the telephone or connecting to a conference bridge. It is suitable for time-sensitive applications, such as on-location mobile production trucks and live broadcasts.

An intuitive interface facilitates ad-hoc communications and makes the user the conductor of his or her own audio conference. Features include drag-and-drop functionality and simple point-and-click controls. The Presence Awareness feature monitors participants’ availability, allowing users to communicate efficiently in demanding settings.

“Freelancers working from home or in the field can now connect to their desktops or laptop computers via a user-friendly interface using a microphone or headset,” said Jake Dodson, Clear-Com vice president of product management. “These conferences can be initiated within minutes and are of such high clarity that it actually sounds as if they’re in the same room with other participants.”

The system uses AES 128 bit encryption to provide security for protecting privacy of transmissions. Additional highlights include texting and online chat capabilities that offer easy escalation to a voice session, giving users increased control and flexibility.
