You heard it right, iPhones (and iTouches) can become miniature musical synthesizers. With the iSyn application, an iPhone can act as a monaural synthesizer and even record compositions.
The latest iteration, version 1.1.1 has added WAV and MIDI file recording and exporting (to computer for further work or play) via Wi-Fi. Also an arpeggiator and quick-help guide have been added.
The iSyn offers a keyboard synth, a drum pad, sequencer grid and classic analog synth editor GUIs. All modules work via the iPhone’s touchscreen interface.
