Tascam has released the FR-AV4 audio field recorder.

The company describes it as a powerful yet compact 4-channel field recorder and mixer, suitable for film production and video journalism, as well as field recordists and sound designers.
The FR-AV4 has 32-bit float recording with dual analog-to-digital converters, capable of audio capture up to 192 kHz. It includes four Ultra HDDA mic preamps across four XLR/TRS combo inputs and a built-in 4-input/2-output mixer.
The device’s ability to record six tracks — four mono inputs plus a stereo mix — makes it an “all-in-one” solution for on-location production, Tascam said.
For multi-camera and dual-system audio workflows, the FR-AV4 includes a timecode generator with LTC jam sync and HDMI timecode sync. HDMI I/O supports record triggering and passthrough of 4K/8K video signals.
The recorder has a 1.9-inch color touchscreen and a jog wheel to navigate its menu options. It has built-in EQ, limiter, low-cut filter and noise gate processing.
The FR-AV4 supports Bluetooth audio output and can be remotely managed using the free Tascam Recorder Connect mobile app when paired with its optional AK-BT2 Bluetooth adapter.
For storage, the device supports SDXC cards up to 512 GB.
