The U.S. operations of Germany’s Stagetec have announced the availability of the On Air 24 console/control surface. On Air 24’s modules can be installed in custom furniture. It is aimed at self-operators, small clusters and stations.
Like many modern broadcast consoles, the On Air 24 really is a control surface for a digital network. Each modular four-fader bucket is linkable, up to a 24-fader unit. Each fader channel has rotary encoders, programmable buttons, OLED visuals and uses 100 mm Penney & Giles motorized faders.
A separate monitor panel is available offering information on source and level controls, L/R and talkback, etc. The On Air 24 operates as stereo or 5.1 surround sound. Standard DSP such as EQ, compressor, gate and delay is included.
The heart of the On Air 24 is Stagetec’s Nexus fiber optic audio distribution system (router, I/O, processing) and a Linux operating system. The On Air 24 is functional with Windows-based PC monitoring and remote control systems. Interfaces for major third-party automation platforms are available or can be customized.
