The Harris Broadcast Communications Division laid out its plans for the NAB Radio show. The company said it would promote its ability to provide complete systems for HD Radio, “further supported by recent industry data that reports Harris remains the most popular industry choice for HD Radio transmitters.”
It will introduce the Flexstar HDX-FM exciter, which it touts for real-time adaptive correction that provides noise reduction and transmitter/antenna linearity for digital broadcasts. Harris said the technology benefits from six years of implementation experience in digital TV.
An HD Radio multicasting demonstration will be part of the booth.
Also new are the Intraplex NetXpress, a managed audio-over-IP platform for studio-to-transmitter connectivity, and the Harris PR&E VistaMax networked audio platform.
On display will be the StereoMixer digital console and the NeuStar product line for HD Radio and 5.1 surround sound over HD Radio. Neural Audio will provide a demo; and broadcaster Radio One will use a NeuStar 5225 system to broadcast two Philadelphia FM stations in 5.1 at the show.
And Harris will show its QuickLine II furniture line and Day Sequerra HD Radio Monitors.
