Long-time speaker maker Tannoy has announced the addition of three new powered members to its Reveal family of monitors.
Tannoy says that “Each Reveal in this new range has been custom tweaked by Tannoy’s in-house speaker legend, Dr. Paul Mills.” The emphasis has been on expanding the sweet spot.
The Reveal 402 is made of a 4-inch woofer and 0.75-inch tweeter. It is powered by 50 watts of amplification. Stated specs are 56 Hz–48 kHz. Price: $139.99.
The Reveal 502 has 75 watts of power for a 5-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter. Its specs are listed as 49 Hz–43 kHz. This model is currently available in the U.S. only at Guitar Center and Musician’s Friend. Price: $179.99.
The largest new member is the Reveal 802, sporting an 8-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter and 100 watts of power. Price: $279.99.
On the back panels are 1/4-inch and balanced XLR inputs along with a 3.5 mm input for other devices such as tablets and music players. Also on the back are basic EQ controls, speaker position switch and a volume knob. The base has an attached rubber pad for acoustic isolation.
