It’s not every day that you see a company peddling a door.
But so it is with Auralex and its StudioDoor “isolation door.”
The StudioDoor is made of wood “with a proprietary Auralex core to maximize mass and eliminate resonance issues.” The company adds that the larger of the two versions available, the StudioDoor 48, features Auralex SheetBlok Sound Barrier for additional isolation.”
The two are the StudioDoor 41, with a Sound Transmission Class rating of 41 and the StudioDoor 48, with an STC of 48. The higher the rating the more sound dampening factor the door has.
Both models have a length-wise continuous industrial grade hinge. The doors are 36 inches wide and 80 inches tall while the StudioDoor 41 is 1.75 inches thick while the StudioDoor 48 is 2.5 inches thick.
