Wegener Shows New iPump Media Player

Aimed at digital signage and news applications

Wegener’s iPump family of media players has a new member, the iPump 525.

It is aimed towards static displays and signage uses. However, due to its flexibility with multiple formats it is suitable for lobbies, advertising venues or information display at remote locations or in a studio. A suggested use might be as a programmable prompter (e.g. weather, traffic, news) for on-air news personnel, hosts and sidekicks. The marketing department also may find uses the iPump 525.

The 525 has no problems with video, graphics or text, HD or SD, MPEG 2 or MPEG 4 (H.264), according to the company. It is compatible with Wegener’s Compel Control IP network media control system and can be programmed to serve multiple displays simultaneously. On the audio side it offers 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz digital audio, MPEG 4, MPEG Layer II, Dolby Digital and AAC-LC.

President and COO Ned L. Mountain said: “The new iPump 525 IP media player and CompelConnect.com solution has the ability to deliver custom messages to any number of locations simultaneously to enhance key sales and marketing activities.”
