Ibiquity says 2009 a Great Time for HD under the Tree

Will Christmas Eve 2009 find Santa listening to holiday music multicasts on a new HD head unit in his sleigh? Ibiquity’s PR and marketing folk seem to hope so, or at least that’s what their most recent press release suggests.
Entitled HD Radio Technology — Great Gifts for the Holidays, the piece highlights gift season promotions being offered by Microsoft (Zune HD), Best Buy (Insignia NS-HD01), Radio Shack (Gigaware Navigation Control HD Radio Receiver accessory), Costco (Teac HD1), and Crutchfield (HD component package deals).
The release also mentions a wide array of HD products now on the market, from high-end home theatre receivers to inexpensive portables.
There are 31 stations in the Bluegrass State broadcasting 44 HD Radio channels….
By bringing World Space out of bankruptcy, Liberty’s strong financial position, coupled with its relationship with Sirius/XM could put the company in a position to fast track a European satellite service….
