PRAGUE10:55 AM local time, Aug. 6, is an important milestone in the history of broadcasting in the Czech Republic because at that moment, the new DAB network was launched, according toradio.cz. The transmitter location is theikovtower (shown at right).
The new service includes nine stations under the banner DAB Praha, and reaches Prague and Central Bohemia, accounting for about 20 percent of the population. Full digitalization remains some way off, however, because the current analog licenses are in effect until 2025.
