IBC Sneak Peak: Orban Introducing Headphone Monitor

Designed for broadcasters, production houses, recording studios and HDTV networks

Orban will introduce a new headphone monitor at IBC2016 in Amsterdam.

The iMix 5.1 headphone monitor is designed for critical monitoring and quality control in applications undergone by broadcasters, production houses, recording studios, mastering houses and HDTV networks. Any type of headphone can be used without the need for HRTF calibration.

The monitor uses DaySequerra’s DSX headphone surround sound algorithm, which features the latest ITU-R BS.1770 loudness measurement system. Orban notes that “no proprietary encoding is needed to accurately render a discrete 5.1 soundstage with complete stability.”

The iMix 5.1 headphone monitor also has AES inputs on its BNC connectors as well as a built-in web server.
