Tascam Hires Stopka for Business Development

TEAC names Tassio to direct U.S. sales

Joe Stopka

Joe Stopka is taking over the position of director of business development for audio equipment manufacturer Tascam, the company announced in a press release. Stopka will be charged with pursuing and developing new business opportunities for the Tascam brand in both live and studio music production, as well as recorded sound for film and video.

Stopka began his career as a musician before transitioning to sales and marketing. His past positions saw him working with brands like Sony Professional, MIPRO, Electro-Voice and Eventide.

He will be based out of Chicago.

Dean Tassio

TEAC, Tascam’s parent corporation, has named Dean Tassio as director of U.S. sales, overseeing the company’s professional audio and audiophile products from his office in Kansas City, Mo.

Tassio has served as the vice president of sales for Polk Audio and as executive vice president of sales and marketing for Martin Logan. Additionally, he has held executive positions with Triangle Loudspeakers and BAC Custom Musical Instruments in Overland Park, Kan. Prior to working with BAC, he founded and ran DD&L Vintage Guitars in Kansas City.
