NAB Announces Groundbreaking Date for New HQ in SE Washington

Dave Lougee, Gordon Smith, Del. Eleanor Homes Norton are expected to attend the ceremony

WASHINGTON�Monday, June 20. That’s the day the�National Association of Broadcasters plans to break ground on its new headquarters in the Navy Yard.

Joint Board Chairman Dave Lougee and NAB President Gordon Smith, as well as Del. Eleanor Homes Norton, who represents D.C. in the House of Representatives, are expected to attend the ceremony.�

NAB is currently located at 1771 N Street at DuPont Circle in Washington, but is moving to be closer to Capitol Hill, exactly a mile away, according to the association.

The new address is1 M Street S.E., and it also happens to be located two blocks from the Washington Nationals’ baseball stadium and three blocks from the nearest metro station.

A fall 2018 move-in date is the current target for NAB and its 150 employees.�Among the planned features of the building will be a rooftop terrace and 100-seat theater.
