NJBA to Salute Casey Kasem

2016 Hall of Fame class to also include Ed Hurst and Bert Baron

The New Jersey Broadcasters Association will salute the late Casey Kasem as part of its 2016 Hall of Fame class at its 69th Annual NJBA Convention and Gala, Atlantic City, N.J., June 22–23.

NJBA President and CEO Paul Rotella said, “Our 2016 Class included Townsquare Media broadcaster Ed Hurst, Greater Media’s Bert Baron and the timeless Casey Kasem (posthumously).” Hurst will also receive an NJBA Lifetime Achievement Award.

Rotella also announced that Kerri Kasem, Casey Kasem’s daughter, will attend to accept the award for her father.

Ed Hurst has had a lengthy career in Philadelphia/southern New Jersey-area TV and radio, starting at WFPG(AM), Atlantic City in 1943. His “Pier” TV and radio talent and entertainment shows have aired for decades on various Philadelphia and southern New Jersey stations.

Bert Baron has been working for Greater Media since 2001. He’s currently a host for WCTC(AM), along with creative and program director for WMGQ(FM) and WCTC in Somerset, N.J.
