NPR Chooses DAVID MTE

MultiTrack Editor to be centerpiece of newsroom production

National Public Radio has settled on DAVID Systems’ MultiTrack Editor DAW as its newsroom production tool, according to a release from the manufacturer. The MultiTrack Editor is being used on 400 or so NPR desktops and field devices.

The MTE is a 24-bit/96 kHz-capable system with VST and DirectX plug-in compatibility. It supports multiple formats on a single timeline.

DAVID stated in the release that the MTE “was designed specifically for radio journalists on deadline.” NPR requested specific upgrades and customization from DAVID.

DAVID Systems’ Managing Director for the Americas, Paul Weiland stated, “At the request of NPR, we added video-style content insertion on the timeline, multi-zoom clipboard functionality, and enhanced cut, copy & paste functionality among other new features to MTE.”
