Bangladesh Betar Will Take a Dozen From BE

New FM network will include 12 FM 10S 10 kW transmitters

A dozen FM transmitters at 10 sites will make up a new network in Bangladesh, with gear to be provided by Broadcast Electronics.

The Illinois company said it won a contract to supply the government-run radio organization with 12 BE FM 10S 10 kW solid-state transmitters with dual BE FXi digital exciters, antennas, towers and other hardware, project management and engineering support through its representative Khandaker Whedul Islam of KHI.

“The contract for Bangladesh Betar includes transmitters, antennas and field installation as required for a new country-wide FM network covering major population areas in Dhaka, Comilla, Jessore, Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Rangpur and Barishal,” BE stated in an announcement.

BE’s Frank Massa said the new service that will reach approximately 65% of the nation’s population.

The contract also includes Moseley Starlink STLs, Jampro JCPB broadband and JBVP vertically polarized sidemount antennas, as well as a Jampro combiner.

“Three of the transmitters are to be combined through a Jampro Starpoint combiner and fed to a common antenna system at the Dhaka facility,” BE said.
