Real Traffic 2.0: Personalized Traffic Info for Commuters

Maptuit Corp. have released Real Traffic 2.0, an upgraded version of their real-time reporting Web application that provides traffic info for commuters.

Westwood One and Maptuit Corp. have released Real Traffic 2.0, an upgraded version of their real-time reporting Web application that provides traffic info for commuters.

New features include color-coded Speed and Flow maps based on traffic sensor data; Key Routes, which allows users to see the routes’ Traffic Index time and calculated delay time based on traffic flow; and Maptuit’s draggable maps, which it says have richer colors and easy-to-read detail.

Additionally, Real Traffic 2.0 offers My Commute, which lets users set up their daily door-to-door commutes and receive traffic alerts on their cell phones via the Web or text message.

Commuters who subscribe to Real Traffic 2.0 set up personalized accounts via My Commute where they enter locations such as “work” and “home,” as well as define trips between them. At specified time intervals, the service checks each trip for traffic incidents and notifies the commuter of advisories that may affect their trip.
