National radio revenue will be up 8 to 9 percentage points next year, says Interep Chairman/CEO Ralph Guild. He cites an upturn in leading economic indicators and the impact of events including Olympic Games and political advertising.
Growth categories, he said, should include automotive, airlines, computers/software, internet/dot-com, telecommunications, television /cable /entertainment.
His comments did not include local radio revenue, which is a larger piece of radio’s income and has underperformed national sales, according to RAB statistics.
