48 Million Satcaster Subscribers Predicted by 2012

SkyWaves Research Report, a research publication covering the satellite radio industry, projects that the two satellite radio broadcasters will share as many as 48 million subscribers by 2012. The study employs a proprietary forecast model and found that even a ‘minimum growth’ scenario gives the two satellite radio services 29.7 million subscribers by 2012. SkyWaves Research predicts a combined total subscriber count of nearly 800,000 satellite radio subscribers by June 30 and at least 1.5 million by the end of this year.
