DRM Preps for General Assembly

Hosted by Ampegon, the 2017 event will be held in Baden, Switzerland

Digital Radio Mondiale’s 2017 general assembly will take place May 10–11 in Baden, Switzerland.

Sporting the theme “Digital Radio Mondiale Delivers,” the two-day event, which is being hosted by Ampegon, will get started with a meeting for members only on the morning of May 10. At lunchtime the consortium will then open its doors to everyone interested in DRM and digital radio.

During the “open” meeting, DRM says it will provide attendees with highlights from key DRM countries and the opportunity for guests to review and receive updates from country representatives and specialists on the year’s DRM progress.

“As a founding member of DRM, Ampegon is delighted to once again host this event. We support and enhance the DRM standard, which is fully integrated in our broadcast transmitters,” said Josef Troxler, Ampegon CEO.

“This is a moment to take stock and review the excellent progress made by DRM in India and other key countries like Pakistan, South Africa, Indonesia as well as the interest shown in some African countries, Brazil, Russia and in Asia-Pacific, said Ruxandra Obreja, DRM chairman. “The fact that there are already standalone and car receivers featuring DRM, gives confidence in DRM and the ultimate success of digital radio all over the world.”
